November 20 - 2011: ANCHOR in a car crash! On November 18 ANCHOR got hit from behind by a speeding car on their way to a gig in Stockholm. ANCHOR's vehicle then crashed into the car in front of them by the hit from behind. Three of five members ended up on hospital but they are all fine now except some aching necks and hurting shoulders. They could actually do their gig as planned the same night in Stockholm and they played yesterday in Sandviken as well as nothing would have happend. Respect! www.facebook.com/anchorofficial

May 29 - 2011: "Recovery" out soon! Only four years have passed since I held the debut EP ”Captivity songs” in my hands for the first time. I was really psyched to hear the new band from the singer of SET MY PATH. I remember being blown away totally with Captivity songs, there were some amazing tunes on that piece of plastic, I can tell you. I would, however, not count on the fact that ANCHOR would become one of the most important bands in the 21 st century european hardcore scene. I mean, it was high quality hardcore songs from start to finish on the EP, but not many hardcore bands manage to keep the dedication to go on. Not many hardcore bands even manage to get to release a fullength album. Not many hardcore bands manage to play 300 shows in four years. Not many hardcore bands have the opportunity to tour across the world over and over again. Not many hardcore bands are ready to offer so much time for what they are doing. To say that ANCHOR is a passionate band is a real understatement. They make things happen. They are what you call dedication. Here we are, May 2011, the second fullength album is just around the corner. The outcome is called ”Recovery” and it shows a more diversed side of the band. They've become more melodic, but don't worry, it's still aggressive. Everything you love about this band is here, just imagine it one step further and imagine ANCHOR better than ever and you will get the picture. Yes, you will need this! I'm curious to see what Recovery will mean for ANCHOR. Where will they be able to travel? How many new kids will they be able to praise? What will it mean for the Swedish/European hardcore scene? February 22 - 2011: Lot's of great news! ANCHOR are,
as we speak, in the studio to record the follow up to the critically acclaimed
debut album "The quiet dance" that came out in 2008. The new album (title
to be announced) will be released by Let it Burn Records and Refuse
Records this summer! Read more about it in the news post below (see
"February 20").

Even tought the days of Sweden as the No.1 country for hardcore bands are long over, there's still a small but active scene up there. For quite some time ANCHOR have now been the lighthouse of Swedish Hardcore and we feel more than honored to announce that they have just signed a deal with Let it Burn Records. With almost 300 Shows in 4 years (including two full US tours) and a rear cover of a whole bunch of amazing releases, ANCHOR are now set and ready to release their new album on Let it Burn Records in June 2011. ANCHOR about the signing "We're very happy to announce that our upcoming, yet to be named, album will see the light of day this summer through LET IT BURN RECORDS. To say that we're excited about this cooperation is a massive understatement. It's a privilege to be working with such a caliber label, one of Europe's longest running, one we've been following for many years and we're anxiously looking forward to see what the future holds for us." Inspired by the likes of JUDGE, ENTOMBED, SKITSYSTEM and VERSE, ANCHOR have written their most resounding music ever, that shows a natural progression from their last releases. The band describes their new sound as "harder, filthier and yet more emotional than anything we've done before."
